Congratulations Nole!

Congratulations Nole!

Congratulations Nole! Novak Djokovic has become the new king of the men's rankings.

The world No.1 has now held the top spot in men's tennis more than any other player breaking the record he shared for one week with Roger Federer. Djokovic has now reached his 311th week as world No.1 eclipsing the record Federer has held since April 2018.

"It really excites me to walk the path of legends and giants of this sport," Djokovic said. "To know that I have earned my place among them by following my childhood dream is a beautiful confirmation that when you do things out of love and passion, everything is possible."

He is currently on his fifth spell as No.1. Last November he claimed the year-end No.1 ranking for the sixth time equalling the record of his boyhood hero Pete Sampras.

"Now I'm going to be able to focus mainly on Grand Slams," Djokovic said. That is another record he is chasing. Novak stands at 19 following his recent Australian Open title, which was his ninth in Melbourne, and is one behind Federer and Rafa Nadal.

It was July, 2005 that Djokovic made it into the top 100 for the first time and the first time he clinched the No.1 ranking was 4th July 2011, a day after winning his first Wimbledon.
